Christmas has just been finished and I already miss the good holiday-feeling. So goodbye Christmas and hallo EASTER! I hereby make an early launching of you…
It is very usual that big paper eggs filled of sweets to the children comes from this easter animal. We have a lot of old easter traditions in Sweden. Have you heard about the easter witch, riding on a broom to a horrible place called Blåkulla? Children often dresses themselves like easter witches, but in a rather sweet and harmless way. We take small twigs from birches and put them in a vase inside the house. In the twigs we put feathers in different colours. It is a symbol for the leaves from the palm tree when Jesus came to Jerusalem. We eat a lot of sweets and a lot of eggs during easter. Easter in Sweden is a mix of what people have believed in, superstitions, and christian traditions.

cute.
Thanks Connie!

I have never heard of the Easter witch, but I love the sound of it!
It sounds a little bit more scary, than what it actually is. I think one could compare the tradition with Halloween, without horrible disguises:-)
Trevligt att läsa ett inlägg på Engelska Britta =)
