Weekly photo challenge: Through

Perhaps, I see life through a lins. I see a special object, a tree or a stone or a big mountain – a rainbow – something gives me a feeling – a recognition – this is what life is. Through my feelings of being human being – I can break the wall. Every day I try to tear down the bricks. Sometimes I succeed. But life is also a walk through sunshine. The very best moments in life are the ones when I see beautiful things – through my eyes…

Weekly photo challenge: Unusual

This is really unusual: it is 10 June, 2009 or 2010. Not unusual in itselt, but the weather…It was early summer evening. Usually the weather can be cold and rainy in June, in the north of Sweden, but not this evening. Outside temperature 28°C and the same temperature inside the house. Yes, we celebrated with strawberries!

Weekly photo challenge: Distorted

How many pictures do I not have, that are just that – distorted…This summer we went to Stockholm and the Vasa museum. The swedish king Gustav II Adolf had ordered the ship and unfortunately it sank just 1300 meters on its first trip. This was in 1628. In 1961 the ship was taken up from the sea…

Here is the ship in 2011. Well, I could not get the whole ship in one picture…and barely a sharp picture…

Weekly photo challenge: Indulge

I take a picture of this beach every summer. It is a little bay at the sea, which we visit every summer. It is never so much people here, but the open sea is near and we call this bay ”Lillviken”, the Little Bay. Sometimes I read, meanwhile I look up into the sky – wondering about my fascination of the summer season.

I look toward the sea and think about Virginia Woolf and her book ”Mot fyren” (towards the lighthouse) perhaps the title in english is ”A writer’s diary”? I have always thought that I some day shall write a similar book, be world famous and every person will after that wonder about the book, and the persons in it, like I have wondered about Mrs Dalloway. Until my book is written, I suppose I will go back to this little bay, indulge in my thoughts about my future book…

Weekly Photo Challenge: Down

It seems like I only write something in my blog when it’s Weekly Photo Challenge. I really like this challenge, not because I think I’m the best, no, I like the idea of expressing what is me. And also, I have met people in this challenge, well only in cyberspace, that I like,…here I am, in Sweden and can have connection to USA, Great Britain, Norway, Australia and so on – can you agree – we have so many opportunities today…no, I do not feel down:-) but here are some photos that shows my expression of the word – Down…

My mother is 87 years old. Here is a photo from the feast I had when I (was 50) had a wonderful evening:-) She is the opposite of the word DOWN, she nurced my father when he got the Parkinsons disease, she has struggled in life, seven children, but she has never looked reverse. I think it is about time my mother will go international:-)

‘And now a Down photo: Rome: Looking down…

Weekly photo challenge: Hope

It is the 2nd of August 2011 and we are driving a rental car on Mallorca. It is a special day. The weather is nice, the road are narrow and I am afraid of narrow roads and steeps. Once upon a time there was a young woman, who drove a car in the winter. It was snowing and the weather conditions was terrible. I had two young girls in the back of the car. Two trucks passed my car. The second truck did not have control of the trailer, and it hit my car in the side. The car tumbled around and finally it stopped. The windows were broken, the entire car was demolished. We hang upside down – but we could open a door and get out and nobody of us were injured. That’s why I am afraid of cars, steeps and narrow roads. But this day is a special day.

I am celebrating my birthday, 50 years I have been living on this earth. I feel hope for the future. One can choose to go through the tunnel or climb in a stair. There are always possibilities in life and hope…

Weekly Photo Challenge: Simple

I wish I could write these following words in Swedish. Just because it is so simple to express oneself in one’s own language. I took this photo a few years ago at the house where I was borne, a small village at a lake. This is the water well. My father who died many years ago built this arrangement in wood. The flower besides the well is a ”Kejsarkrona” in english you could call it an Imperial crown. This flower, which my mother planted once, I remember from my childhood.

This photos show the way I lived my life. We lived a very simple life, a few cows, a horse, a dog in a beatiful surrounding. I do agree with the expression ”that less is more” – how could one otherwise be greatful – when you can compare and have experiences from a simple life…

Weekly photo challenge: Launch

Christmas has just been finished and I already miss the good holiday-feeling. So goodbye Christmas and hallo EASTER! I hereby make an early launching of you…

It is very usual that big paper eggs filled of sweets to the children comes from this easter animal. We have a lot of old easter traditions in Sweden. Have you heard about the easter witch, riding on a broom to a horrible place called Blåkulla? Children often dresses themselves like easter witches, but in a rather sweet and harmless way. We take small twigs from birches and put them in a vase inside the house. In the twigs we put feathers in different colours. It is a symbol for the leaves from the palm tree when Jesus came to Jerusalem. We eat a lot of sweets and a lot of eggs during easter. Easter in Sweden is a mix of what people have believed in, superstitions, and christian traditions.
